Wellness Weekend – June 5th & 6th

Have you been struggling over the past year?

How are your children enduring the COVID-coaster?

We are planning a totally NEW offering in June that is sure to help you and your child de-stress and feel good.

If you need a mental reset or emotional support for getting back to a place where you feel strong or just need an excuse to stop and take a few deep breaths then this weekend event is a great time to do it.

We have sessions for kids and sessions for adults!

Children’s Mindfulness & Yoga Class

We’re SUPER excited to be hosting Julie Campilio, Founder of Radiant Beginnings here at MWG! She has been working with kids of all ages for over 10 years and bringing health and wellness to the minds of young people across the country. She is an amazing individual and you will not be disappointed!

In this fun and engaging class, students will be introduced to age-appropriate coping skills and mindfulness exercises that can be used in daily life. Using a play-based and light-hearted approach, we empower students through deep breathing, mindfulness, yoga postures, cooperative games, and guided relaxation.

Building community and helping students feel a sense of belonging are always our top priorities so all students are free to express their authentic selves. During each class, we use techniques proven to increase self-awareness and equip participants with tools to self-soothe for life-long wellness.

About Julie Campilio

Julie Campilio, Founder of Radiant Beginnings

Julie is dedicated to helping all children develop healthy relationships with the full spectrum of their emotions. Growing up with undiagnosed ADD and anxiety, her work is deeply influenced and informed by her own journey learning how to self-soothe as a young child and experimenting with coping strategies to live in the world more comfortably. Gradually, Julie was introduced to yoga and mindfulness and found in them a power to be with her emotions rather than run from them. Over time, she learned to tap into her breath and lean into discomfort, learning life-long tools to navigate big emotions.

For the past 15 years, she’s pursued opportunities to use these tools in private & public education, substance use centres, with youth with multiple obstacles to success, and with children with special needs. She has partnered with social workers, therapists, researchers, and educators to create content that supports children’s social and emotional wellness. Julie also teaches with Sea Change Yoga to provide yoga to historically excluded and oppressed populations. In all environments, she cultivates a judgment-free space that is grounded in her own journey of self-love and acceptance. She has been published in The New York Times, Elephant Journal, Insight Timer Meditation, and Gaiam Meditation apps.
